  1. Some notes...
  2. -It requires winpcap to run (available here... http://winpcap.polito.it/install/default.htm)
  3. -It runs on XP, >=98 probably OK but untested
  4. -Depending on your personal firewall software, you might not
  5. see all activity, I believe winpcap operates at a higher level
  6. in the TCP/IP stack and is subject, I think, to the same constraints
  7. as tcpdump and ethereal on windows.  Your thoughts on this are welcome.
  8. -It currently supports TCP & UDP over IP and Ethernet.
  9. -I'm not releasing the source code at this time.
  10. -In the IP address field, enter the host's IP address.  This
  11. is used to let the program know what you consider your internal network for proper plotting.
  12. You can enter a specific IP to monitor or a network range
  13. (e.g. 192.168.1.100 or 192.168.1. or 192.168. )

  16. To install...
  17. 1.  Install winpcap
  18. 2.  Run rumint's setup.exe
  19.  
  20. To use
  21. 0.  Run program
  22. 1.  Type in your IP
  23. 2.  Click start button
  24. 3.  Check your email, browse the web etc.  If you see lines appearing you are good to go.
  25. 4.  The snapshot button, makes .bmp images of the two windows and places them in the 
  26.     application's directory.

  28. Please consider it an alpha release, but it should be reasonably stable.
